AIMS GAMES 2024 – RUGBY BOYS SEVENS
In a previous newsletter, it was written that the final result for our boys was 29th out of 35 teams. Our boys competed against 45 teams from around the motu, displaying sportsmanship and our RPS values. Apologies for the error.

RPS Celebration in the Park 2024
We are thrilled to announce Celebration in the Park 2024, Randwick Park School’s very own version of Christmas in the Park. This festive celebration is a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together with friends, whānau, and neighbours to reflect on and celebrate our successes this year.

Date: Tuesday, 3 December
Time: 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Location: Randwick Park School
The evening will feature entertainment from our tamariki, food stalls, games, and plenty of singing to create a fun atmosphere.
Let’s make this another memorable evening and celebrate the amazing talents within our RPS community.

Serious Incident of Concern – Keep our tamariki safe
Last week an Alfristion College student was walking to school when approached by a vehicle. The female driving tried to tell the student to get in the backseat, where a male was seated. Both occupants were of South Asian decent.
Please remind our tamariki to stay vigilant while walking to and from school and to avoid approaching unknown cars and, if possible try to get the registration number.

ATTENDANCE DRAW
Thank you for ensuring your tane/kōtiro arrive at school prior to the 8.40 am bell. Students arriving after this time are to sign in with Miss Dot. They receive a late pass to take to class. When students enter class after the bell it can be unsettling for them and disruptive for the rest of the akonga.
Please try to ensure your son/daughter are able to be here before 8.40am.
As of the end of last week, RPS has 205 students with 100% attendance so far this term. Keep it up, in our final week all students with 100% attendance will go in the draw for our basket of balls.

TERM 3 ATTENDANCE DATA

- Students who identify with more than one of these ethnic groups are counted in each.
- MELAA (Middle Eastern, Latin American, and Asian) ethnic group had the highest proportion of students attending regularly, with 72%
- Māori ethnic group had the highest proportion of students with chronic absence, with 15%
Here are some of the 109 students who came to school every day (or just 1/2 a day off) in Term 3. Each one of them received a certificate and chose a Duffy book to take home. We are looking forward to presenting even more certificates at the end of this term with a big celebration for everyone who has 100% for the whole year.

USING THE ROAD PATROL CROSSING
There have been several sightings of students running across the road to get into cars or to walk in and out of the school gates.
We encourage our parents and whānau to help our tamariki with road safety, so please ensure when you are dropping off and picking up your tamaiti they use the road patrol crossing to safely cross the road.

DROPPING AND COLLECTING YOUR CHILDREN/TAMARIKI
When dropping your tamariki off in the morning please use our yellow coned drop-off area. This is for the safety of you and your tamariki. If you would like to walk your child/ren to class, please park on the road.
Our school gates are closed from 2 pm. Only parents/whānau who have a parking permit are permitted through the gates as we have limited parking spaces.

Health and Safety
NO CROCS or JANDALS permitted
For health and safety we ask that students do not wear crocs or jandals – they are not practical when tamaiti are participating in physical education and other activities. They are especially unsafe for our Year 7-8 tamariki due to their technology programme. If you have any questions to this, you are welcome to contact us.

SCHOOL HOURS
School starts at 8:40 am & finishes at 2:45 pm. If tamariki arrive after 8:40 am they are late and need to sign in at the back of our office with Miss Dot, our School Liaison Officer.
All students are asked to be off school grounds by 3 pm unless they are attending a sport training.
This is for safety reasons as we do not have supervision in case of an emergency, injury or incident.

SUMMER UNIFORM
We are now enjoying lighter mornings and warmer days, our summer uniform consists of school shorts, skirt, polo shirt, and school shoes/sandals/sports shoes.
Please ensure your son/daughter come to school in our full school uniform. It is great to see some of our tamaiti already being sun safe wearing our school sunhat.
If your child is wearing a piece of jewellery as part of their culture, please advise either their class teacher or our school office. Jewellery, nail polish, jandals and crocs are not part of our school uniform.

LABELLING CLOTHING ITEMS
We regularly have lost clothing. As you are aware school uniform items are expensive. To assist us in ensuring that we can return any lost items, please clearly label all clothing.

CHANGE OF CLOTHING FOR OUR JUNIOR TAMARIKI
If your child is in Year 0-4, we ask that you please pack them a change of clothing. This is incase of accidents which can occur at their age.
