COUNTIES ZONES FINALS
YEAR 7 SOFTBALL

Well done to our Year 7 Boys’ Softball team who placed 4th at the Counties Zone finals last Tuesday. It has been fantastic to see how far the students have come in terms of their skills and game play.

A massive thank you to Whaea Marilyn for all her coaching!

The Love Opera

On Monday morning, The Pohutukawa Team went to the hall to watch Love Opera. It was based on a true love story from Italy.

There were five performers, including Miss V from Room 11. She played an interesting character of a priest officiating a wedding!

The performance included some cool props, like a rotating Fish and Chip Shop.

Overall, it was an awesome experience and very entertaining for me and my friends. Thank you to NZ Opera for their Opera in schools programme

WHOLE SCHOOL ASSEMBLY
FRIDAY 14 MARCH

Whole school assemblies are spread across the year, with the dates published in our school newsletter . Assemblies are usually on a Friday at 2pm.

Each room within the school has a ‘buddy class’, generally we match younger students with older ones to form a tuakana-teina bond.
Buddy classes are responsible for organising and running a whole school assembly once a year.

This is an opportunity for them to share an item showcasing their learning, school values or a current event.

During the assembly certificates are also presented and notices shared.

This week is our first school assembly for 2025, hosted by Rooms 25 and 31.

We look forward to seeing you all there

Let’s be real—life doesn’t always go as planned. That home-cooked dinner on Thursday can quickly turn into  takeaways. Follow the four C’s and say goodbye to wasted kai and hello to more savings, less stress, and meals that work for your lifestyle!

Step One: Check your week
Step Two: Check what you’ve got
