Attendance

We have almost all our tamariki back  now. Thank you for sending them to school each day and for making contact if there is a reason why they need to be absent. Our first bell is at 8.30 am, this is when students can enter their class and get themselves set up ready for learning to get underway at 8.40. We ask that you please do your best to ensure they are at school by this time.

If tamaiti arrive after the 8.40 bell they need to go and see Miss Dot and receive a late pass to take to their class teacher. This is for safety to ensure all tamariki are accounted for.

School finishes at 2.45pm. All students are to be off-site/off-school grounds by 3pm unless they are attending training for a sport. This is for safety reasons as we do not have supervision in case of emergency, injury or incident.

Contact SKIDS (after-school care) if you need supervision for your child/ren

Defibrillator – available for our community

A defibrillator often referred to as an AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) is a small device that gives a safe electric shock to someone having a sudden cardiac arrest, increasing their chance of survival by 44 percent.

When someone has a cardiac arrest, their heart stops pumping blood around the bodya defibrillator will read the heart’s rhythm and give an electric shock to help get the rhythm back to normal.

We have one, for our community to use in an emergency located on the Magic Way fence between Te Kahukura and the Astroturf.

School Lunches

Halal Dietary Needs
Below is a message from our lunch providers about Halal meals.  We have tried to change our Halal meals to vegetarian but this is unable to be actioned for two weeks.  If you have concerns please continue to send your child with extra lunch from home.

Thank you for your patience and ongoing support with this.

Ka Ora, Ka Ako Healthy School Lunches Programme

You will be aware that the school lunch programme works hard to deliver meals that are personally and culturally acceptable to students, as well as nutritionally adequate.

The meals from the Collective are made with Halal certified beef and chicken ingredients, and they do not contain pork or pork containing ingredients.

The practice used to prepare food follows very strict cleaning and wash down procedures between each meal production. The meals are individually packed and sealed when delivered to schools.

The kitchens have not been certified and as such the meals are classed as ‘Halal Friendly’.

The Collective is committed to working with the Islamic community to improve confidence in the Halal meals they provide.
