Sunny Soccer Memorial Match

On Thursday 28 November we played our annual Sonny Shakham Memorial Football matches against The Gardens School. Thank you to all who participated, helping us keep Sunny’s football legacy and memory alive here at Randwick Park School. The results of the games were:
Year 5/6 loss 0-1
Year 7/8 Girls win 3-0
Year 7/8 Boys win 3-1
Thank you to Mr McNaught for preparing our soccer superstars, and Whaea Marilyn for her mahi helping out to get the field ready to play on.
We look forward to continuing this tradition in the future in memory of Sunny.

Celebrating Books Week
Last week, Randwick Park School celebrated books. Adults read books in the library at morning tea times, and there were fun activities at lunch, including making brackets, caterpillars, and slugs! Learning programmes were based around a book or books, with classes choosing different authors, genres, and themes. This was a chance for tamariki to get creative and have some fun with books.
Room 17 delved into the enchanting tale of Hansel and Gretel, reimagining the story with themselves as adventurous characters and crafting vibrant new book covers.
Room 18 read The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson and created amazing pop-up forests with the characters from the book.
Room 19 focused on Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, they designed and made bookmarks and ties.

Earth Day Mufti 28 November

Seeing all our tamariki in bright florals and the deepest earth blues and greens to support our Earth Day was awesome. Our total amount fundraised was $439.60. All proceeds will be used for our school gardens

Congratulations Swapna!

Congratulations to Miss Swapna Narayan, one of our Office Admin Team who delivered a healthy little tane (Te Hiraka) on Saturday. Miss Swapna will be on maternity leave until mid 2025.

Replacing her we have welcomed Miss Lolita Lio. Miss Lita is looking forward to meeting and welcoming you as part of her admin role.

ATTENDANCE DRAW

Thank you for ensuring your child arrives at school prior to the 8.40 am bell. Students arriving after this time are to sign in with Miss Dot. They receive a late pass to take to class. When students enter class after the bell it can be unsettling for them and disruptive for the rest of the akonga.
Please try to ensure your son/daughter are able to be here before 8.40am.

Keep it up RPS! in Week 10, all students with 100% attendance will go in the draw for our basket of balls.

DROPPING AND COLLECTING YOUR CHILDREN/TAMARIKI

When dropping your tamariki off in the morning please use our yellow coned drop-off area. This is for the safety of you and your tamariki. If you would like to walk your child/ren to class, please park on the road.

Our school gates are closed from 2 pm. Only parents/whānau who have a parking permit are permitted through the gates as we have limited parking spaces.

If you have any questions, please contact our school office on 09 2670112 or 0800 438777. Thank you for your ongoing support and cooperation in keeping our tamariki safe.

Please visit their website for more information on SKIDS.

Health and Safety
NO CROCS or JANDALS permitted

For health and safety we ask that students do not wear crocs or jandals – they are not practical when tamaiti are participating in physical education and other activities. They are especially unsafe for our Year 7-8 tamariki due to their technology programme. If you have any questions to this, you are welcome to contact us.

Thank you for your support
