RPS Values and Dispositions
Respect
At RPS we have one big overall value of RESPECT.
Respect for others,
Respect for ourselves,
Respect for our learning
Respect for our environment.
Showing respect for others in social and learning situations is essential for tamariki to succeed in life. Students are modelled how to use respectful words and show respect for the feelings, cultures, and perspectives of others.
Respect for learning is valuing their learning, seeing themselves as a capable learner, and striving to make continuous progress. Showing respect for everyone in the RPS learning community.

RPNC INTERMEDIATE GRADING DAY
It was a sensational start to Saturday’s grading day for our Intermediate teams! It’s safe to say our best start to a grading day in a long time!
Congratulations to our development team, RP Te Hiringa, who remained undefeated throughout grading, propelling them to a C grade for the Presidents Round!
Our young dynamic squad, RP Ururoa, secured an impressive 4 wins and just 1 loss, earning them a well-deserved spot in A grade. RPS has been blessed with lots of talented players over the years but to have a squad of them in 2024 is an exciting, scary prospect. Don’t be surprised come finals week in August both teams will be vying for that championship title!
Thanks to our umpires Malama and Salina both were on point the whole day. Can’t wait to see you both earn your center badges!
Thank you to our coaches and managers for generously giving your time and expertise to serve our school. AND . . . of course, a big ‘MANA WAVE’ to all our families for your support and look forward to seeing more of you throughout the season.
Mark your calendars, because the weekly comp kicks off on Saturday 27 April, the last Saturday of the school holidays. Get ready for another thrilling season ahead!

GIRLS YR 7/8 INTER-ZONE SOFTBALL A massive congratulations to our Year 7/8 Girls’ Softball team who placed third at the Auckland Championships Inter Zone finals on Thursday. They won three games in pool play before narrowly losing their semi-final 5-4 to Papatoetoe Intermediate. Putting their disappointment aside, they defeated St Pius in the play-off for third place. The girl’s achievement was possible through the awesome work of our coach Marilyn, who has given her time to help grow the skills of our girls!

YEAR 5/6 CRICKET Well done to our Year 5 & 6 cricket teams who competed in the MPSSA tournament on Wednesday. Special congratulations to our boy’s team who were undefeated in all 5 games and placed 1st in A grade. They scored a total of 185 runs!

TRAMPOLINES!
Our new trampolines are up! Tamariki are using them at break times and we have been impressed with their behaviour. They are lining up, taking off their shoes in neat lines and getting on and off for their 2-minute jump respectfully.

USING OUR PEDESTRIAN CROSSING
Thank you to all our whānau who model appropriate road safety protocols to our young RPS tamariki by using our crossings on Magic Way and Riverton Drive. When dropping off or collecting your child/ren please use the drop-off zones or off-street parking. Parking on the yellow lines, in front of our school gates, or double parking creates a serious safety issue. Please support us in ensuring our students get to and from school safely.
