READING EGGS PROGRAMME YEAR 0-4 STUDENTS
Learning to read with Reading Eggs is fun!
Reading Eggs helps children of all abilities learn how to read. They can access hundreds of fun, engaging lessons, reading activities, and literacy games.
Year 0-4 students have a Reading Eggs account. Some students in Years 5-8 also have an account. Their access is free for one year. Please encourage your child to use this at home.
Ask your child to log in on a device and show you the programme. If they have forgotten their password get them to ask their teacher.

SCHOOL UNIFORM
Terms 1 and 4 are our warmest terms. We ask that tamariki please wear our school sunhat during outside times. This is to protect them from the harsh UV rays. Our summer uniform consists of our school shorts, skirt, polo-shirt, and school shoes (Roman Sandals, school shoes – black, white, or navy blue), or sports shoes (black, white, or navy blue).
If your child is wearing a piece of jewellery as part of their culture, please advise either their class teacher or our school office. Jewellery, nail polish, and jandals are not part of our RPS uniform.

ATTENDANCE We love to see your tamariki 100% of the time
Parents/caregiver/whānau expectations
Ākonga | Students are legally required to attend school every day. Support is available for families of children who are struggling to attend.
- Parents/whānau play a big role in helping their child/ren do well in school. You can do this by making sure your child comes to school every day and letting the school know if they’re sick.
- Parents/whānau please ensure children are enrolled and attend school every day.
- Family holidays or taking time off for extracurricular activities are not reasons for being absent.
- Please let us know if your child is moving schools.
Getting help if your tamariki are not attending regularly
We know there can be important reasons why children aren’t coming to school, such as long-term illness, bullying, or financial challenges for families. If your child is affected by any of these, talk to us first.
We will work with you to remove barriers to attending. There are many kinds of support available that might help make it easier for students to come to school. RPS might also connect you with other agencies or alternative education pathways.
If you have more serious concerns, you are very welcome to contact our local Ministry office at +64 9 265 3000.
