TE HUI AKO &
OUR WHĀNAU/AIGA/FĀMILI SURVEY
BE IN THE DRAW TO WIN!

Our Te Hui Ako (a meeting to share learning) starts today Tuesday 12 – Thursday 14 September.

Thank you to those whānau who have already met with teachers. Discussing your child’s learning is invaluable to their progress and well-being. We are looking forward to meeting with everyone over the week. Last term we had nine classes who all achieved either 100 or 99 % participation.

We have a survey that we would like all whānau/families to complete. If you come to our library before or after your meeting you will go into the draw to win a $50 supermarket voucher.

OUR AIMS TEAMS
Our AIMS teams did tremendously well competing in Tauranga last week. The results were:

Netball Girls placed 8 out of 144 teams
Futsal Girls placed 7 out of 21 teams
Rugby Boys placed 39 out of 46 teams

TONGAN LANGUAGE WEEK CELEBRATIONS
Thank you to all our parents/fāmili/whānau and staff who supported our children in last week’s Tongan Language performances and celebrations. Our Tongan Cultural group, Rooms 32 & 6, and Alfriston College performed beautifully and made us all proud.

Our Tongan Cultural group also performed at two radio stations (PMN and Hapai Tuhono) and at the Tongan Language Week Celebration Festival in Papatoetoe on Saturday.

KIDS SING CHOIR

Tomorrow, Wednesday 13 September our Elite choir, Psamony, will compete at the New Zealand Choral Federation 2023 Kids Sing Competition held at the Holy Trinity Cathedral, Parnell. The choir is assessed during the day and in the evening will take part in a gala show. We are very proud and wish them all the best.

“WHAT IS THE KIDS SING?”The Kids Sing is the national competition and festival for Primary and Intermediate school choirs. The choirs present a recital comprising one compulsory piece and several pieces of their own choosing including a NZ piece,
on which they will then be judged.

Year 9 enrolments for 2024 need to be handed into Alfriston College by Friday 22 September. Please ensure all documents are attached. If you have any questions, please contact Alfriston College on 09 269 0080
